The Erie Otters dropped the opening game of a weekend home-and-home series Friday night, falling 10–2 to the London Knights at Canada Life Place.
London jumped out early and never looked back, scoring three times in the first period to take a 3–0 lead. The Knights continued to build their advantage in the second period, eventually extending the lead to 7–1.
Cohen Bidgood led London with a hat trick, while Braiden Clark also recorded three goals in the game.
Erie’s goals came from Tyler Cooper and Evan Headrick. The Otters were outshot 37–18 in the contest.
The loss gives Erie its largest goals-against total in a game this season. The Otters and Knights will complete the home-and-home series Saturday night in Erie.
