According to the Titusville Police Department, officers responded April 12 to a report of firearms-related threats at a local hotel. Upon arrival, police made contact with a juvenile male from out of state who reported a violent encounter.

Investigators say the incident stemmed from a verbal dispute between the victim and 23-year-old Deon Reddix of Pascagoula, Mississippi, following an evening at an adult entertainment establishment.

Police allege the situation escalated when Reddix retrieved a firearm from his vehicle, returned to the hotel room, and threatened the victim. Authorities say Reddix forced the firearm into the victim’s mouth and compelled the victim to transfer money electronically.

Further investigation determined Reddix also provided alcohol to the juvenile.

Officers later obtained and executed search warrants for the hotel room and Reddix’s vehicle. During the searches, police recovered a 9mm pistol from the room, along with ammunition and magazines from the vehicle.

Reddix faces multiple charges, including robbery, aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime, corruption of minors, and several related offenses.

He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Crawford County Jail, where he is awaiting arraignment.
