A two-vehicle crash in Amity Township over the weekend resulted in a rollover and multiple injuries, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The crash occurred around 6:18 p.m. on April 11 at the intersection of Arbuckle Road and Wattsburg Waterford Road in Erie County.
State police say a 2020 Chevrolet, driven by 26-year-old Kennard L. Hairston Jr. of Erie, was stopped at a stop sign on Wattsburg Waterford Road when he was waved through the intersection by another individual. As Hairston attempted to turn left onto Arbuckle Road, his vehicle collided with a southbound 2013 Ram pickup.
The impact caused the pickup truck to overturn onto its side.
The driver of the Ram, identified as 26-year-old Eric S. Ester of Meadville, was not injured. Hairston suffered suspected minor injuries but was not transported from the scene.
Four passengers in the Ram were involved in the crash. Two were transported for treatment of suspected minor injuries, including a 23-year-old woman taken to UPMC Hamot and a 22-year-old Union City woman taken to Corry Memorial Hospital. Two additional passengers, including a 40-year-old woman and a young child secured in a safety seat, were not transported.
Police said both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene.
Hairston was cited for a traffic violation related to turning movements.
Emergency crews from Union City, Greenfield Township, and other agencies assisted at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
