According to Corry City Police, the incident occurred around 9:58 p.m. on June 20. Officers were initially called to the Labor Club on West Main Street, where a bicycle had been found. The individual who located the bike provided police with a name of a possible suspect. The bicycle was taken to the station as officers waited to confirm if it had been reported stolen.

On June 23, a resident of the Airport Road Apartments reported a bicycle stolen from the basement of an occupied building. The victim provided a photo, which matched the bicycle found days earlier. The victim also identified a suspect by name.

After reviewing surveillance footage and conducting interviews, police determined that 32-year-old Jamal Jones of Corry had entered the apartment building, removed the bicycle from the basement, and was seen riding it through the complex’s parking lot before heading toward Center Street.

Jones was taken into custody on the evening of July 2 and was committed to the Erie County Prison. He will appear before Judge Buell to face charges related to burglary and theft of movable property.
