The Lady Bears Softball team was back in action on Friday afternoon taking on the General McLane Lancers in their home opener. Down by three runs, the Lady Bears would get their bats going in the bottom of the fifth, scoring six runs, including a grand slam by Lucy Higley, to give the Bears a 6-3 lead. The Bears would follow that up by scoring five more runs in the sixth, going on to defeat the Lancers 11-3 improving to 2-0 on the season. Alyssa Tingley was the winning pitcher, throwing a complete game, along with ten strikeouts.
