    The Union City Bears grabbed an early lead on its way to a 12-4 victory over Jamestown on Friday 3/24. Miles McCaslin led the charge with a deep shot to center field for a double off the first pitch of the game. He then scored after taking 3rd on a steal and being driven in by a Daithin Kent single. Kent scored off a Bryce Drayer single in the first inning, Wyatt Post started on the mound for the Bears. The righty allowed 4 hits and 3 runs over the 1st inning. Post struck out 1 and walked 1. Jamestown scored 3 runs in the 1st to follow up and take the lead, which would be short lived. Lucas Doutt earned a double scoring a run that would take the lead for good in the 2nd inning. The Bears tallied 4 runs in the 3rd inning with McCaslin, Kent, Drayer and Doutt all sending runners across the plate. Capela, Magee, Shuman and Klakamp all contributed to the total run count reaching 12 in the 7th. Aiden Shuman took control on the mound shutting Jamestown down to only 1 more run through 5 innings with 7 strike outs and no walks to earn the Win. Miles McCaslin earned the save pitching the 7th inning to record the last 3 outs of the game with 5 pitches, no hits, 1 strike out and no walks. The Bears recorded only 1 error on a hard-hit ball that got through the infield. They took advantage of their on base success with the bats by stealing 8 times to set themselves up to score. Drayer led the team in steals with 4 while McCaslin, Kent, Drayer, Doutt and Shuman recorded 11 hits. The Union City Bears are scheduled to face the Saegertown Panthers on Monday in Union City for their first Region game.
