Otters Fall to Rangers in Overtime, 4-3

ERIE – The Erie Otters saw a late lead disappear before falling to the Kitchener Rangers 4-3 in overtime at the Erie Insurance Arena on Saturday.

Erie built a 3-0 lead through the first half of the game. Mclean Agrette and Michael Dec scored in the first period, followed by Paul Schuster’s first OHL goal on a power play early in the second.

Kitchener answered with a goal from Weston Cameron before the end of the second period. The Rangers then scored twice in the third, including Cameron’s second goal with 30 seconds remaining to tie the game at 3-3.

Tanner Lam scored the overtime winner to give Kitchener the 4-3 victory.

David Egorov made several key saves for Erie, including stopping Tanner Lam on a penalty shot in the second period.

The Otters were outshot 36-28 in regulation. Erie will begin an Eastern Ontario road trip Thursday in Peterborough.
