PennDOT to Hold Public Meeting on Proposed Route 886 Roundabout

MEADVILLE — PennDOT will hold a public meeting Sept. 24 to discuss proposed improvements to the intersection of Route 886, Allegheny Street and Limber Road near Allegheny College in Meadville.

The proposed project calls for construction of a single-lane roundabout at the intersection of Route 886, also known as Route 86/North Main Street, Allegheny Street and Limber Road. PennDOT says the project is intended to improve safety for all users along the corridor.

The open-house-style meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Allegheny College’s Henderson Campus Center, Rooms 301 and 302, at 520 North Main Street.

Attendees will be able to review information about current traffic and road conditions and the proposed roundabout. Project team members will be available throughout the meeting to answer questions and receive feedback.

Construction is anticipated during the 2028 and 2029 construction seasons.

The meeting also provides an opportunity for public comment regarding the project’s potential effects on cultural resources under the federal Section 106 review process. Translation, interpretation and accessibility services are available upon request.
