The Union City Police Department purchased a 2026 Dodge Durango, which they recently put in service. Everett Gluvna was checking out the new cruiser during National Night Out Tuesday at Caflisch Park. National Night Out is a nationwide event when first responders and community members get together for an evening of camaraderie. Union City’s event also featured the Union City VFD, the Union City Ambulance Service, games, auctions, a free meal and bike giveaways. Residents across the region joined local first responders Tuesday evening as communities celebrated National Night Out. The Corry Police Department and Salvation Army hosted a carnival-style block party in Corry, while the Union City Police Department welcomed families to Caflisch Park for its annual celebration. In Spartansburg, the event was hosted by Spartansburg Events at the Spartansburg Fairgrounds.

Each gathering featured opportunities for residents to meet police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel and community organizations while enjoying family activities, demonstrations and food. National Night Out is held annually to strengthen relationships between first responders and the communities they serve while promoting neighborhood involvement and crime prevention.
