Family Displaced by House Fire Near Wattsburg

WATTSBURG — A family was displaced after a house fire Wednesday morning on Creek Road north of Wattsburg.

Emergency crews were dispatched shortly after 11 a.m. to the 14000 block of Creek Road for a reported structure fire. Everyone inside the home was able to escape safely, according to firefighters at the scene.

Crews spent more than two hours battling the fire and completing overhaul operations before the scene was cleared. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced family.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Firefighters from the Wattsburg Fire Department, Greenfield Volunteer Fire Department and Kuhl Hose Company were joined by numerous mutual aid departments, including Corry, Union City, Crescent Hose, Elgin-Beaverdam, Fuller Hose Company No. 1 of North East and the Clymer, New York, Fire Department. Emergency medical support was provided by EmergyCare and Perry Highway EMS.
