PITTSFIELD TWP. — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is inviting the public to review plans for a proposed bridge replacement project on Miles Run Road in Pittsfield Township, Warren County.

The project calls for replacing the existing bridge, located about four-tenths of a mile west of the intersection with Route 6, with a new concrete structure supported by new concrete abutments.

According to PennDOT, the current bridge was built in 1950 and was later widened with the addition of two steel beams. The bridge is now rated in poor condition and is posted with an 11-ton weight limit.

Miles Run Road is a township-owned roadway, and the bridge carries an average of about 100 vehicles each day, including approximately one percent truck traffic.

Construction is tentatively scheduled for the 2028 construction season.

During construction, the bridge will be closed for approximately three months. Traffic would be detoured approximately eight miles using Miles Run Road, Panther Gap Road, Deadman’s Run Road and Route 6.

PennDOT is accepting public comments on the proposed project as part of the planning process.
