CORRY — The Corry Area Fine Arts Council’s Thursday in the Park concert series continues Thursday with a patriotic evening of music featuring the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra in Corry City Park.
Before the evening concert, families are invited to the Corry Public Library for a free Musical Petting Zoo beginning at 10:30 a.m. The interactive program gives children and families an opportunity to meet members of the Erie Philharmonic, see and handle a variety of musical instruments, and learn how they produce sound.
Thursday evening’s concert, “The Sounds of America – Daniel Meyer’s Patriotic Pops,” begins with an opening performance by ThreeWay Street at 6 p.m. The Erie Philharmonic Orchestra will warm up at 7:15 p.m., with the concert beginning at 7:30 p.m.
During the evening, the Corry Area Fine Arts Council will pay tribute to the late Margaret Zaphiris and Ronald Rairie in recognition of their longtime support of the arts in the Corry community.
The concert is free and open to the public. Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating in Corry City Park. In the event of rain, the concert will move to Faith First Church, 650 Worth St. in Corry.
