CORRY — An Erie man was taken into custody Sunday evening after Corry City Police discovered he was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant during a traffic stop.
According to a police news release, officers conducted a traffic stop at approximately 9:39 p.m. on July 5 in the 300 block of West Columbus Avenue.
During the stop, one of the vehicle’s occupants was identified as 45-year-old Evan Bayer of Erie. A warrant check revealed Bayer was wanted on a bench warrant issued in Erie County.
Police took Bayer into custody and transported him to the Corry City Police Department. He was later turned over to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office for transport to the Erie County Prison.
