Teen Driver Injured in Union Township Crash

Pennsylvania State Police at the Corry barracks investigated a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning on Kimball Hill Road in Union Township, Erie County.

According to police, the crash occurred at approximately 10:14 a.m. near 15486 Kimball Hill Road. Troopers said a vehicle traveling southbound veered off the roadway, striking a PennDOT road sign and then an electrical pole, shearing the pole from the ground.

Police said the 16-year-old driver sustained suspected injuries. No name was released because the driver is a juvenile. The driver was transported to Saint Vincent Hospital by family members.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage in the crash.

State police said the driver was cited for driving on the right side of the roadway through the office of Magisterial District Judge Hammer.

Assisting at the scene were the Union City Volunteer Fire Department, Union City ambulance personnel, Northwestern REC, and Dave’s Auto Services.
