State Police Investigating Reported Theft From Deceased Person’s Bank Account

State Police at the Corry barracks are investigating a reported theft involving withdrawals from a deceased person’s bank account in Union Township, Erie County.

According to police, troopers were called May 11 to investigate a report that money had been withdrawn from a deceased individual’s bank account shortly after the person’s death.

Police said a family member discovered the unauthorized withdrawals and reported the incident to authorities.

The investigation remains ongoing.
