The Pennsylvania State Police will take part in the annual Click It or Ticket campaign from May 11 through May 31, 2026, as part of a nationwide effort to increase seat belt use and reduce traffic fatalities.
The campaign, coordinated with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, focuses on enforcing seat belt laws and promoting proper restraint use, particularly during a time of increased travel heading into the Memorial Day holiday period. Officials note that many crash-related fatalities involve individuals who were not wearing seat belts.
As part of the initiative, a child passenger safety seat check event is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Presque Isle Downs and Casino. Certified technicians will be available to inspect child safety seat installations, provide guidance on proper use, and answer questions from the public.
Additional safety seat check events are expected to take place at locations across Pennsylvania throughout the campaign period.
