According to the Union City Police Department, officers were called to the store on West High Street around 3:20 p.m. for a report of a trespassing incident. Upon arrival, police spoke with store management, who reported that Mary Beth Moorehead had been asked multiple times to leave the property but refused. Police say Moorehead had previously been trespassed from the store during an earlier incident.

Officers reported that Moorehead was combative and resisted arrest when taken into custody. She was charged with defiant trespassing and resisting arrest and was later committed to the Erie County Prison following arraignment.

While handling that incident, officers also observed Ethan Temple inside the store. Police were aware Temple had an active warrant for his arrest related to a prior prohibitive offensive weapons charge. Temple was taken into custody and later released following arraignment, with a preliminary hearing scheduled.

Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
