The Union City Lady Bears were back in action on Wednesday night as they welcomed the Girard Yellowjackets into the Bears Den for a region game.
The Lady Bears would take an early lead but the Yellowjackets would have a good first quarter as they would stay within reach as the Bears led after one 14-8.
The Lady Bears would dominate the second quarter, outscoring the Yellowjackets 18-4 to go into halftime leading 32-12.
Girard made adjustments and would play better after the intermission as both teams would play even in the third quarter with each scoring eleven. The Lady Bears would go into the fourth leading 43-23.
The Yellowjackets would outscore the Bears 25-16 in the fourth quarter, but the Bears would go on to win the game 59-48 to improve to 7-6 (3-4) on the season, while the Yellowjackets fall to 3-9 (1-6).
The Lady Bears will be back in action on Thursday night as they host the Iroquois Braves in the Bears Den in another region game.
