Union City Borough officials are reminding residents of a change to trash collection due to the holiday.
Trash pickup will take place Saturday, December 27th, instead of the regular schedule. Borough officials say this will be the final pickup by Tri County. Residents are asked to place all Tri County trash cans at the curb that day, as the company will begin collecting its cans following pickup. If a can is not collected Saturday, residents should leave it at the curb until it is picked up.
Looking ahead, Waste Management will begin delivering new trash cans in January to residents who signed up to rent them but have not yet received one. The first Waste Management bills are expected to be mailed around December 29th.
If residents have not received their new cans by the first Waste Management pickup on January 6th, trash bags may be placed at the curb for collection that day.
Borough officials also note that landlords will now be billed directly for trash service at rental properties. Tenants with questions should contact their landlord, while landlords can reach out to the Union City Borough Office for more information.
