Police say 39-year-old Briana Marie Borland entered a shared basement area at an apartment building at 332 Mead Avenue without permission on October 16. A resident reported personal items missing, and officers later identified Borland as the person who entered the basement. Police say she admitted going inside but denied taking anything. According to court dockets, a criminal complaint was filed on October 30, and Borland was later arrested on a warrant. She was taken into custody on November 1 by Pennsylvania State Police Corry and turned over to Corry City Police. A felony charge of criminal trespass was filed. She was arraigned and held in the Erie County Prison after being unable to post $5,000 monetary bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 10.

In a separate case, on October 28, police say Borland was involved in a retail theft incident in Corry. She was arrested and charged with retail theft, accused of taking merchandise without paying. A preliminary hearing for that case is also set for November 10.
