Festival Director Morgan Kelly says the event continues to thrive thanks to the people and businesses who support it.

“This is our 19th year for the French Creek Festival, which would not be possible without our amazing sponsors and our amazing community coming out to support the event,” Kelly said.

Attendees can expect a full lineup of activities for all ages. Friday evening kicks off with mini golf provided by Jumpin’ Jungle, a glow stick dance party at 9 p.m. with DJ Tim Miller, and a fireworks display at dusk. The Miss French Creek Pageant will take the stage Friday at 5:30 p.m.

Saturday features even more community favorites, including:

  • A free kids zone with games and glitter tattoos open during all festival hours
  • Bounce houses available from 12 to 4 p.m.
  • A car cruise-in from 12 to 3 p.m., with chances to win $50 gas cards
  • A cornhole tournament at 1 p.m.
  • “Where the brushes meet the boom,” a firework themed paint n sip style event at 1pm. $25 per person, all supplies provided. Proceeds benefit the Main Street Art Center
  • The festival’s popular cash raffle drawing at 6 p.m., where one lucky winner will take home $1,000

Live carving demonstrations by Sawdust Sculptures will take place both days, with finished pieces auctioned off Saturday at 5 p.m.

For Kelly, the event holds a personal meaning.

“I have been coming to this festival with my parents since I was a little girl, and I love that I can continue that tradition with my children,” she said. “There is something for everyone to do! I hope everyone comes out to support our event and creates or continues their own traditions. Plus, the fireworks are fantastic.”

The festival is made possible through the support of generous sponsors including George Fox Insurance, UC Borough, CSI Construction, LECOM, UC VFW, Lindy Paving, UC CMA Church, UC Pet Hospital, Corry Federal Credit Union, Beebe Photography, First Global Methodist Church, Union City Family Support Center, Warren-Glenn Funeral Home, and UC Moose Lodge.

Admission to the French Creek Festival is free. Bring the whole family and enjoy a Union City tradition filled with music, games, prizes—and of course, fireworks.
