Union City Plans to Join CREMA

Union City Borough Council discussed recently the possibility of joining the Conelway Regional Emergency Management Agency (CREMA). Solicitor Wachter explained that municipalities are required by state law to have an emergency plan in place and due to the requirements and training many are hiring the agency to help with the work. The estimated bill for this year would be around $4,000 and just over $3,000 in subsequent years. Council voted in favor of submitting a letter of intent to join the organization. The CREMA currently works with Wayne, Concord, & Venango Townships; Elgin Borough & the City of Corry.
