Corry Council Discusses Sewer and Airport

A million dollar loan for sewer planning and the Airport Authority were among the  topics covered at a Corry City Council Planning Session Thursday. The loan would be used to pay for planning and design for future sewer system improvements. Erie County would arrange the loan. The loan terms: 5 years at 1% interest.
Council also received an update from attorneys on the transfer of the defunct Corry Airport Authority to a new one established last year. If Council approves attorneys advised a petition seeking the transfer would be presented to the Erie County Common Pleas Court for a decision. Council was advised the case was unique as a defunct authority has never been transferred to a new one. Among the issues to be resolved include debt, transfer of all city airport property to the authority and deed restrictions of airport property donated by several families.
Council closed the planning meeting and voted to go into Executive Session to discuss legal matters..
