At a special meeting Tuesday the Corry School board was updated on the middle-high school renovation project by the director of buildings, Mike Munsee. He said phase one will be completed this week which has consisted of ductwork and wiring to the new HVAC rooftop units and wiring for new lighting. Some change orders to the project may be coming as smoke dampers will not be needed and Munsee said he would like to see isolation valves placed strategically throughout the HVAC system. He reported to council the original ceiling still exists in many areas of the school above the drop ceilings and should be removed now to free up working space in tight areas. Other recommendations include hiring a commissioning service to inspect the HVAC after the work is complete and updates to sound systems, particularly in the east gym. The ongoing renovation project is expected to be completed in 2024.
