Family members from all around the Union City community are invited to show off their spookiest,
silliest, cutest and most creative Halloween costumes as they make their way through town collecting
treats from local businesses before they try to be a winner for their costume.
The Union City Parks and Recreation Commission is again sponsoring a Treats in the Streets
Halloween Parade, followed by a costume contest on Halloween night, Oct. 31.
Treats in the Streets begins at 5 p.m. in the municipal parking lot behind the Salvation Army store on
West High Street.
The parade route will be reversed this year. From the parking lot, participants will walk up the small
hill and take a right, walking past the Salvation Army. The parade route will then turn right at Main
Street, heading south. The parade will continue south to Second Avenue and then turn right to the
Union City Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall.
Then the fun begins with the annual Halloween Costume Contest. The costume contest begins at 5:30
p.m. and the entire family is invited to dress in costumes for judging in various age groups and
categories. The costume contest will run until 6:30 p.m.
Trick-or-treating runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
