PETERBOROUGH, ON — The Erie Otters suffered their first regulation loss of the season Thursday night, falling 4-0 to the Peterborough Petes.

Peterborough opened the scoring on a power-play goal from Adam Novotny with seven minutes remaining in the first period. Lucas Karmiris added another goal with 30 seconds left in the opening frame to give the Petes a 2-0 lead.

Yanis Lutz extended Peterborough’s advantage to 3-0 four minutes into the second period with another power-play goal. Erie continued to generate opportunities, outshooting the Petes 14-7 in the period, but Peterborough goaltender Masen Johnston kept the Otters off the scoreboard.

The Petes added one more goal in the third when Leon Kolarik scored with 10 minutes remaining. Peterborough held Erie without a goal the rest of the way as Johnston recorded his first OHL shutout.
