UNION CITY — The Union City Farmers & Makers Market will hold its final market of the season Saturday, Oct. 3, with a Fall and Halloween theme, along with activities for families.
The market will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 48 South Main Street. About 30 vendors are expected to participate, offering a variety of locally made and seasonal products.
Kimberly Tuszynski, Constituent Services Representative/Zoning Officer for Union City Borough, organizes the market. She said vendors will offer a wide range of items, including fresh breads, stuffed cookies, homemade pies, handmade earrings, crocheted animals, books, beauty products, laser-made and wood crafts, pumpkins, mums and dirty sodas.
Two vendors will also offer fall-themed crafts for children, giving families an activity to enjoy while shopping.
The event will include a trunk-or-treat-style activity for children shopping with their families, along with Halloween-themed activities. The crafts and activities are free, with the only expense being purchases families choose to make from vendors.
The market has grown considerably since its first event. Tuszynski said the first market featured about 12 to 13 vendors, while interest grew to the point that participation for Saturday’s event had to be capped at 30 vendors because of available space.
“The response has been great from both the vendors wanting to participate and the community wondering when we will have more events,” Tuszynski said.
She said she already has a significant number of vendors interested in participating next year as organizers look to continue developing the market.
“I couldn’t be more grateful or excited about what this has grown into. We’re really just getting started!” Tuszynski said.
The Oct. 3 event will be the final Farmers & Makers Market of the 2026 season.
