Pennsylvania State Police have released details on three crashes investigated in Crawford and Warren counties earlier this month. Two of the crashes involved single vehicles, while the third was classified as a hit-and-run.
On Sept. 12, at about 7:30 a.m., state police responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a deer on Route 8 in Athens Township, Crawford County, south of Kelsey Road.
Police said 42-year-old Natasha D. Tate of Erie was driving a 2010 Hyundai Elantra when the vehicle struck a deer. The collision caused disabling damage to the vehicle. Tate was not injured. She was cited for operating a vehicle with an operating privilege that was suspended or revoked.
On Sept. 18, shortly after 1 a.m., a single-vehicle crash occurred on Route 89 in Sparta Township, Crawford County, south of Earnest Road.
Police said 25-year-old Kylie M. Sibble of Spring Creek was traveling south when her 2016 Kia Sportage left the roadway and struck a tree. Sibble was not injured. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Police cited Sibble for driving on the right side of the roadway.
A Sept. 2 crash on Picadilli Hill Road in Columbus Township, Warren County, involved 70-year-old Ruth C. Thomas of Spartansburg.
According to state police, Thomas was traveling south when her 2020 Ford Explorer left the roadway near the intersection with Sample Flats Road. The vehicle struck a PennDOT sign and continued through a nearby property before coming to rest in a ditch.
Police classified the incident as a hit-and-run. The report states Thomas was later stopped on Route 426 by an unidentified individual and taken to a bank. She suffered minor damage to her vehicle and was not injured.
