The resolution supports agricultural education programs and recognizes their role in preparing students for careers and leadership in agriculture. It also recognizes the role of the National FFA Organization in agricultural education.

The resolution notes that more than 11,000 agricultural educators teach students about agriculture, food and natural resources across the 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Kelly’s office said Pennsylvania has more than 49,000 farm families operating about 7.3 million acres of farmland. Kelly also visited Moniteau High School’s vocational agriculture program in March to meet with students and educators and learn about its FFA chapter.

The resolution was submitted in the U.S. House on Sept. 8 and referred to committee.
