CORRY — Corry police arrested Aleisha Canavan, 50, of Erie, following a motor vehicle accident at McDonald’s near West Columbus Avenue and Worth Street on Sept. 7.
According to police, officers contacted Canavan after responding to the accident and observed signs of alcohol impairment. Police said Canavan was asked to perform field sobriety tests and, after not following directions during the tests, re-entered her vehicle.
Officers ordered Canavan out of the vehicle, and police said she refused. She was then removed from the vehicle and arrested. Canavan was transported to Corry Memorial Hospital for a blood draw.
Police said Canavan attempted to flee while in custody and assaulted an officer. She was charged with aggravated assault of an officer, resisting arrest, obstructing, DUI and careless driving.
