ERIE — Erie County residents and businesses affected by the severe storms and heavy rain Sept. 2-3 will have access to a Multi-Agency Resource Center beginning Thursday.
The Shapiro administration is supporting the resource center at the request of Erie officials. The center will be open Sept. 17-19 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 1022 Liberty St., Erie.
The center will bring representatives from county agencies, the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Pennsylvania Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster and other community and volunteer organizations together to provide recovery assistance.
State agencies participating or providing information include the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Department of Human Services, Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, Pennsylvania Insurance Department and Office of the Attorney General.
Available assistance will include information about insurance coverage for storm damage, benefits and disability support, community services and other recovery resources.
Homeowners, renters, private nonprofits and businesses that sustained damage from the Sept. 2-3 storms are encouraged to report the damage to their local emergency management agency or through the Erie County online damage reporting portal as soon as possible. The information can be used to help determine whether additional recovery assistance may be available.
PEMA Director Randy Padfield said bringing multiple resources together at one location is intended to make it easier for residents to navigate the recovery process.
The resource center is open to affected Erie County residents and business owners.
