The Erie conference will be held Thursday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn Erie Ambassador Conference Center, 7794 Peach Street.

This year’s conference theme is “Building Connections to Affordability: Collaborative Strategies for Lasting Change.” The event will include expert panels, interactive discussions, information about financial assistance programs, networking opportunities and other resources that attendees can take back to their organizations and communities.

Topics will include utility affordability, customer assistance programs, energy efficiency and conservation, consumer protections, community resources and strategies for reaching households in need.

The PUC says the “Be Utility Wise” and “Be Wise” conferences have been held for three decades, bringing together frontline service providers, utilities, regulators and community organizations.

Registration is also open for five other conferences scheduled this fall in Pittsburgh, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Reading, Johnstown and Harrisburg.
