Residents in Erie County will have an opportunity Tuesday to support local nonprofit organizations through Erie Gives, the annual community-wide day of giving hosted by The Erie Community Foundation.
Erie Gives brings together donations from individuals, families and businesses for participating nonprofits serving communities throughout Erie County. This year’s campaign includes 26 Corry-area nonprofits and 16 Union City-area nonprofits.
Participating organizations can benefit from individual donations as well as matching funds. The 2026 Erie Gives Bonus Bucks pool totals $673,424. After fees are covered, the remaining funds are distributed among participating nonprofits through a prorated match based on donations received.
Additional regional matching funds are also available. Corry has a $25,000 regional match, while Union City has a $15,000 regional match.
Among this year’s Corry participants is the Corry Area Radio Service, which owns Channel 98.9, an independent, non-commercial community radio station serving Corry and the surrounding area. It is the station’s first year participating in Erie Gives.
Channel 98.9 is also a news partner of UC Today. The station produces 12 local news reports each day, promotes local events and organizations, and provides exposure for musicians from the region while featuring a modern rock format.
How to Donate
The deadline for donations made by check has passed. Donations can still be made online using a credit or debit card on Erie Gives Day.
Donations can be made Tuesday, Aug. 11, from midnight until midnight at ErieGives.org. The minimum donation is $25, and donors can support multiple participating organizations through a single transaction.
This year’s Erie Gives community celebration will also have a new location because of renovations at The Erie Community Foundation’s campus. The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Erie Insurance Courtyard on West Sixth Street. A portion of West Sixth Street between French and Holland streets will be closed during the celebration.
Crawford Gives Coming Later This Month
Crawford County residents will have another opportunity to support local nonprofits later this month through Crawford Gives, the Crawford Heritage Community Foundation’s annual three-day giving event.
Crawford Gives is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 19, through midnight Friday, Aug. 21. A prorated matching fund pool will add matching funds to eligible donations made during the event.
Additional information about Crawford Gives and participating organizations is available through the Crawford Heritage Community Foundation.
