CORRY — The City of Corry is among three nearby municipalities receiving state funding to modernize traffic signals through PennDOT’s Green Light-Go Program.
PennDOT announced Tuesday that Corry will receive $482,240 to upgrade traffic signal equipment at four intersections: North Center Street and East Bond Street, South Center Street and South Street, Columbus Avenue and North Center Street, and East Columbus Avenue and Shady Avenue.
Other nearby projects include a grant of $533,988 for Summit Township to upgrade traffic signals at several intersections along Perry Highway, including Robinson Road, Presque Isle Drive and the Interstate 90 interchange ramps. Cambridge Springs Borough will receive $8,680 to install accessible pedestrian signal push buttons at the intersection of South Main Street, Venango Avenue and Church Street.
Statewide, 86 municipalities will share $38 million in Green Light-Go funding for projects aimed at improving traffic safety, reducing congestion and enhancing traffic flow. Eligible improvements include traffic signal modernization, LED upgrades, signal retiming, pedestrian accessibility improvements and updated monitoring technology.
PennDOT said the projects are funded through the 2026-27 state budget.
