RICHMOND TWP. — A 69-year-old Saegertown man was killed Friday afternoon in a utility terrain vehicle crash in Richmond Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Troopers identified the victim as Robert S. Pollard of Saegertown.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:22 p.m. on July 3 on Wheelock Hill Road, about 1,386 feet north of the intersection with Gravel Run Road.
According to the police investigation, Pollard was driving a 2025 Polaris Ranger 570 NorthStar southbound on Wheelock Hill Road when he attempted to negotiate a right-hand curve. The UTV traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck the side of an embankment and overturned.
Police said the vehicle came to rest on its passenger side in the middle of the roadway. Pollard was partially ejected through the passenger-side window and sustained fatal injuries when the vehicle landed on him.
Crawford County Coroner Michael Conard pronounced Pollard dead at the scene at 6:08 p.m.
Blooming Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Cambridge Springs Volunteer Fire Department and Dusty’s Towing assisted at the scene.
State police continue to investigate the crash.
