HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania artists have an opportunity to showcase their wildlife artwork while competing for cash prizes through two Pennsylvania Game Commission contests now accepting entries.
The Game Commission is seeking submissions for the 2027 Pennsylvania Waterfowl Management Stamp Contest and the 2027 Working Together for Wildlife Art Contest. Both competitions are open to Pennsylvania residents and carry a top prize of $5,000 for the winning artist.
The Waterfowl Management Stamp Contest requires artists to create an original painting featuring one of five eligible species: bufflehead, northern shoveler, gadwall, redhead, or Canada goose. Revenue generated from stamp and print sales supports waterfowl habitat development, wetland acquisition and conservation projects throughout Pennsylvania.
Meanwhile, the Working Together for Wildlife Art Contest will focus on shorebirds. Eligible species include birds such as killdeer, greater and lesser yellowlegs, spotted sandpipers, piping plovers, red knots, sanderlings and several other shorebird species. Proceeds from print sales help fund wildlife research and management programs across the Commonwealth.
For both contests, entries must be original works created by Pennsylvania residents. A non-refundable $50 entry fee applies, although the fee is waived for artists under age 18. Cash awards will also be presented to second through fifth-place finishers.
The deadline to submit entries for both contests is 4 p.m. on July 31, 2026. The winning artists will receive $5,000 and additional artist proof prints, while their artwork will be used in official Pennsylvania Game Commission wildlife conservation programs.
Additional information, contest rules and entry requirements are available on the Pennsylvania Game Commission website.
