Bus riders in Corry are being advised that EMTA’s Route 105 will no longer stop at Walmart beginning June 3, but conflicting statements have emerged regarding who made the decision.
In a notice posted on its website June 2, EMTA stated: “Per Walmart’s request, the Route 105 will no longer service the Corry Walmart as of Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026. Passengers should use Corry Memorial Hospital stop as the closest stop to Corry.”
However, a statement attributed to Walmart customer service appears to tell a different story.
According to a social media post circulating online, Walmart customer service stated: “Route 105 (Corry Loop) will no longer serve the Corry Walmart starting June 3, 2026. The bus will not pull into the Walmart parking lot anymore. Riders are directed to use Corry Memorial Hospital as the closest stop instead. This was not implemented by us Walmart but this one was implemented by the bus company itself.”
UC Today has not yet been able to independently verified that claim.
The change is expected to affect a number of riders who rely on public transportation to access the store. Elderly residents, individuals with disabilities, and others who do not drive have regularly used Route 105 to travel to Walmart for groceries, prescriptions and other necessities.
Under the change, passengers will instead be dropped off at Corry Memorial Hospital and will need to walk the remaining distance to the store.
