Pennsylvania officials have extended the deadline for the 2025 Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program, giving eligible residents until Dec. 31 to apply for rebates on rent or property taxes paid during the year.
The program is available to Pennsylvanians age 65 and older, widows and widowers age 50 and older, and adults age 18 and older with disabilities.
Income eligibility limits increased again this year to $48,110 for both homeowners and renters. Officials note that applicants should exclude 50 percent of Social Security income when determining eligibility.
The maximum rebate available through the program is $1,000.
Applications may be submitted online through the state’s system, and assistance is available at local state legislative offices. Officials also remind residents they do not need to pay anyone to apply for the program.
Rebate payments are scheduled to begin July 1.
