The Erie County Metropolitan Planning Organization (Erie MPO) is inviting public input on its Draft Public Participation Plan, which outlines how residents will be engaged in future transportation planning decisions.
The public comment period opens May 1, 2026, and runs through 4 p.m. on June 15, 2026. The draft plan details methods and strategies for public outreach as well as state and federal requirements for public involvement in transportation planning.
According to the Erie MPO, the plan is designed to strengthen communication with residents and ensure community input is included in transportation decision-making processes across Erie County.
The draft document will be available online on the Erie MPO webpage. Printed copies can also be reviewed at the Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority office and at the Blasco Memorial Public Library.

Two public meetings are scheduled for June 1, 2026, both held at the Blasco Library’s Admiral Room at 160 E. Front St. in Erie, an ADA-accessible location. A virtual attendance option will also be available through Microsoft Teams.
The first meeting will take place from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by a second session from 6 to 8 p.m.
Meeting access information will be provided for online participants, including separate meeting IDs and passcodes for each session.
The Erie MPO is expected to vote on adoption of the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) on June 17, 2026, during the 10 a.m. MPO Coordinating Committee meeting at the Summit Township Municipal Building.
