A Corry man is facing multiple charges after an incident involving Pennsylvania State Police in Erie County.
According to state police, troopers were dispatched at about 8:36 p.m. April 15 to the area of Haskell Hill Road and Hopson Hill Road for a reported fight.
Upon arrival, troopers encountered a 23-year-old man from Corry who was allegedly under the influence and causing a disturbance. Police said when troopers attempted to remove him from the scene, he began fighting with officers.
During the struggle, the man allegedly attempted to disarm a trooper of a conducted energy weapon.
He was taken into custody and transported to Saint Vincent Hospital for a mental health evaluation. Police said he was released the following day and arraigned before an on-call magisterial district judge.
The man was committed to Erie County Prison on charges including disarming a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
State police identified a 47-year-old man from Wattsburg as the victim in the incident.
All charges are pending, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
