Pennsylvania State Police fire marshals have confirmed that the fire which destroyed the Hidden View Amish School in Sparta Township on March 27 was accidental in nature. Investigators determined the fire originated inside the building, and the case remains under review as officials finalize their findings.

The fire was reported around 9:30 a.m. along Byler Road and spread rapidly, leveling the school before firefighters could contain it. Three juveniles inside the building were injured, with two flown to a children’s hospital in Buffalo and another transported to UPMC Pittsburgh for treatment. The structure was a total loss.
