The Corry Area School District Board of Directors approved a series of facility upgrades, summer programming, and personnel changes during its regular meeting held March 23, 2026.
Among the actions was the approval of multiple renovation-related purchases funded through the district’s construction fund. These include security window film at Corry Area Primary School, new scoreboards for Sheen Stadium and the middle-high school gymnasium, and significant flooring improvements at both the primary school and middle school classrooms. Together, the projects represent a continued investment in district infrastructure and student safety.
The board also authorized the district to advertise for bids for upcoming waste disposal, recycling services, and paving projects across district facilities.
Financially, the board approved general payments totaling more than $2.7 million for the period between February 19 and March 18, along with the February business manager’s report. In addition, directors approved an agreement with Butler, Agnew and Associates for payroll training and consulting services, capped at 16 hours.
In other business, the board approved the 2026-27 budget for the Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit, totaling more than $78.9 million. As part of that action, member district contributions for the current year were also confirmed, with allocations determined by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Several student-related items were also approved, including multiple field trips. These include participation in PMEA Region Band at Northwestern High School, an automotive technology visit to Erie Community College in New York, and All-State Band and Chorus events in the Pocono Mountains.
Looking ahead to summer, the board approved three seasonal programs: an elementary summer program, extended school year services for special education students, and classroom driver’s education. All programs are scheduled to run in June with varying dates and times.
The board also elected Amanda Cox as its representative to the Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit Board of Directors for a three-year term beginning July 1.
A number of personnel changes were approved, including several resignations and retirements effective at the end of the current school year or into 2026. Notable retirements include high school science teacher Jeffrey Kerr and multiple support staff members across the district.
Additionally, the board approved a property tax exemption request for a Corry resident through the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, as well as the disposal and sale of outdated textbooks and supplies.
