A $1.97 million resurfacing project aimed at improving driving conditions along Page Hollow Road (Route 4009) is now underway in Freehold, Pittsfield and Sugar Grove townships.
The project, which began Feb. 23, 2026, covers the entire 7.71-mile stretch of roadway from Route 6 in Pittsfield Township, through Freehold Township, to Route 957 in Sugar Grove Township.
Initial work includes tree trimming, which started Feb. 23 and is expected to be completed by March 31.
The main phase of construction — including paving, base repair, guiderail updates, driveway adjustments and shoulder backup — is scheduled to begin April 1, weather permitting. The overall project is expected to be completed by June 2026.
Motorists should anticipate traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions throughout the project. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
The contractor for the project is IA Construction of Franklin, Pa. The total contract cost is $1,973,777.77 and will be funded entirely with state funds.
PennDOT is reminding drivers to slow down in work zones, remain alert to changing traffic patterns, avoid distractions and follow posted signs and flaggers to ensure the safety of workers and motorists.
