A Corry man died following a single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Crawford County.
According to State Police at Corry, the crash occurred at approximately 3:31 a.m. Feb. 19 on Sundback Road, west of Sioux Trail, in Sparta Township.
Police identified the victim as Johnathon M. Cole, 39, of Corry.
Troopers said Cole was traveling west on Sundback Road when he failed to negotiate a right curve. The vehicle exited the south side of the roadway and struck a tree head-on.
After the initial impact, the vehicle continued west, rotating counterclockwise approximately 90 degrees before striking a second tree with the passenger side. The vehicle then came to rest on the south side of the roadway, facing south.
Cole was transported by EMS to Corry Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation by State Police.
