Troopers said the crash occurred at approximately 5:19 p.m. Feb. 16 on Arbuckle Road in Venango Township, about 934 feet south of Phillipsville Road. According to investigators, Sharpe was traveling northbound when he failed to properly negotiate a left curve. The vehicle entered a ditch on the east side of the roadway, traveled back onto the road and rolled an unknown number of times.

The vehicle came to rest on its passenger side, blocking both lanes of traffic. Police said Sharpe was ejected through the windshield and came to rest in the southbound lane. He sustained suspected serious injuries and was transported by Kuhl Hose Company EMS to UPMC Hamot.

The vehicle was identified as a 2026 Polaris Northstar. Multiple emergency agencies assisted at the scene.

A 2019 Hyundai Elantra driven by Hope Carroll, 37, of Erie, then slid into the Dodge. A 2014 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Roxanne Mansfield, 46, of Erie, struck the rear of the Hyundai.

Caserta-Farsace was transported by Perry Highway Hose Company to UPMC Hamot with suspected minor injuries. The other drivers were not injured.

Both crashes remain under investigation.
