Erie struck first on a goal from Evan Headrick to take a 1–0 lead after one period, with goaltender Noah Erliden making several key early saves. But Brantford responded quickly in the second, as Marek Vanacker tied the game just 24 seconds in before adding another on the power play. Caleb Malhotra also scored with the man advantage to give the Bulldogs control.

Brantford added two more goals in the third, including one by former Otter Gabriel Frasca after a video review, to seal the win. The Bulldogs outshot Erie 24–13 through two periods and controlled the pace down the stretch.

The Otters return home Saturday night to face the Flint Firebirds.
