Lady Bears Fall to Greyhounds, VanTassel Closes in on 1000 Points

The Union City Lady Bears were back on the basketball court on Tuesday night as they traveled to Wilmington to take on the Lady Greyhounds in a non-region game.

The Lady Bears would get off to an early lead but it wouldn’t last long as the Greyhounds would take control and quickly go up by fourteen points after one quarter of play.

It would be all Greyhounds from that point on as they would go on to defeat the Bears 71-38. The win improves Wilmington to 16-2 on the season, while the Lady Bears fall to 8-10.

Brooke VanTassel would lead the Bears with 17 points on the night as she closes in on 1000 career points, needing only nine. She will look to make that happen on Thursday as the Lady Bears return to the Bears Den to host North East on Senior Night.
