Erie County Executive Christina Vogel has appointed John Durlin as the permanent Director of the Erie County Department of Public Safety, following his service as interim director and as the county’s 911 coordinator.
Vogel said Durlin’s leadership has already had a noticeable impact within the department. “John Durlin’s steady leadership, openness to collaboration, and focus on professionalism have made a real difference for both the department and the community it serves,” Vogel said, adding that the appointment reflects confidence in the progress made under his direction.
Durlin said he is grateful for the opportunity and emphasized support for the department’s staff and emergency response partners. “The Department of Public Safety team is highly skilled and capable,” Durlin said. “My role as Director is to support them and provide the tools they need to complete our mission as we continue providing exceptional service to the public.”
