The first crash was reported around 1:49 p.m. on Donation Road, approximately 1,283 feet south of Benson Road. State police say a northbound 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck driven by John Szklenski, 52, of Union City, was involved in a hit-and-run collision.

According to troopers, a southbound pickup truck, described as a light-colored full-size truck, was traveling in an uncontrolled manner when the driver-side mirror of that vehicle struck the driver-side mirror of Szklenski’s truck. The impact destroyed the mirror and shattered the driver-side front window. The southbound vehicle continued without stopping to provide information or assistance. No injuries were reported. Anyone with information related to this crash is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police in Erie.

The second crash occurred around 3:13 p.m. on Old Wattsburg Road at the 2600 block in Waterford Township. State police report that a 2024 Ford Transit delivery van operated by Chikadibia Nwodo, 32, of Erie, was parked in the eastbound travel lane while a package delivery was being made.

A PennDOT Mack Granite plow truck driven by Nickolas R. Campbell, 25, of Union City, was traveling eastbound when the driver attempted to stop but was unable to avoid striking the rear of the parked delivery van. The Ford Transit sustained disabling damage, while the plow truck had minor damage.

Neither driver was injured, and no one required medical transport. Troopers noted that weather and road conditions were poor at the time due to frigid temperatures and recent snowfall.

Both crashes remain under investigation by Pennsylvania State Police.
