The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that all driver license and photo centers statewide will be closed from Saturday, January 17, through Monday, January 19, 2026, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. The closure includes PennDOT’s full-service driver license center in Harrisburg.

While in-person services will not be available during the three-day period, PennDOT notes that many driver and vehicle services can still be completed online. Through PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services website, customers can access forms and publications, renew driver’s licenses, photo IDs, and vehicle registrations, update addresses, request duplicate credentials, schedule driver exams, and handle restoration-related services.

Online services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and do not carry additional fees.

PennDOT also reminds motorists that a complete list of driver and photo license center closures for 2026 is available online. Customers planning to visit PennDOT-authorized Online Messenger Service Centers are advised to call ahead to confirm holiday hours.
